The family alleges complications during the anaesthesia and the absence of an immediate emergency resuscitation team. Vivek sustained a severe hypoxic brain injury. These allegations are the subject of FIR No. 0260/2026 and remain under investigation.
Vivek has not breathed unaided since. He breathes through a tracheostomy tube and is fed through a PEG tube.
